“Philosophical” Words of Wisdom

I love reading! Lately I’ve been reading many blogs and comments left here, that reveal very deep souls and minds. So this poem has, in my opinion, everything to do with what I’ve been reading.  Looks long, but fast reading:
The Journey – Mary Oliver
One day you finally knew
what you had to do,  (…)
“Mend my life!”
each voice cried.
But you didn’t stop.
You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations, (…)
It was already late
enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen
branches and stones.
But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do –
determined to save
the only life you could save.

Have you imagined the changes in your life along 10 years? Mine changed really a lot. I didn’t imagine it and some changes were simply awfully overwhelming. I guess it’s like this for everybody!

Hope you all have a great week with loads of smiles!

  2. i’m glad you choose what’s right for you. looking lovely like you always do dear denise. what treasures in your life. that shop looks fun! no, i never expected the changes my life has undergone in the last 10 yrs. i didn’t even expect the changes from only a year ago. that saying the only constant is change is very true.

  3. of course my life has changed a lot since for example my university years (2005-2008). I partied A LOT back then but now I have a house, dog and fiance and I’ve worked for more than 5 straight years like crazy to live like I want to and afford the things I want and need. I have grown up, that’s the main point I guess.
anyway, this Kukos place looks really cool and it makes a perfect background for your photos. I like your floral bag a lot and this necklace looks just perfect too! btw, I’m curious, what kind of Masters did you take? :)

  4. Thanks for sharing these inspiring and profound words…Thats amazing, a lucky cardigan that lasted trends and time! You look so pretty. I loved the last saying, there is truly nothing worse than regret, rather try then not at all. Hope you are well sweety, thinking of you

  5. Oh man, if I think back ten years then it is not hard to see how much things have changed. A lot has happened. Many great things, and some not so great. Sometimes I wish I could delete certain things from my memory, but in the end they have made my life to what it is now, and I am pretty happy with that :-)

  6. 10 years it seems to be so long time and people think that they can do a lot for this time, but I remember now me 10 years ago and I perceive all these years as a one second… its hard to imagine that our life consist just from several moments from birth to death, all this is one moment….

  7. I loved the poem, that was prettily told something I have figured out by myself recently..
In 10 years :D? Ow. I’m now 34 and that’s def different than being 24, and to be honest I don’t miss my 20’s. They were just horrible times ;0 The good thing is that they brought me some experience and insights.
