Perfume and Personality

Perfume and Personality – how you apply it says a lot about you!

I love perfumes!

I love perfumes!

I love perfumes! It’s true that I have many bottles, around a 100. I know that some will say “I have more” and that’s fine, I’m not competing – I have problems buying perfumes, because I try and try them, they seem to be OK, and actually the lasting power later proves to be bad – at least for me. So I kept on buying perfumes, in the hope that one would last a bit more. No chance :( There is one special brand I still want, because, as I said, I hope it lasts a bit… Another “problem” is that I don’t like sweet scents; I prefer woody ones. And I refuse to wear male perfumes, the woody ones. So it’s difficult to find THE perfume for me. One day :)

It’s known that the perfume we choose says a lot about our personality. Discover your signature scent herethe test was excellent, really found out the ones I like! But how and where you spray your perfume reveals more than the perfume’s choice itself! Let’s see the ways!

IF YOU SPRAY ON YOUR NECK

Probably you are flirty, but still a bit defensive.

IF YOU SPRAY ON CLOTHES

Spraying your clothes is associated with memory. You value sentiment and cherished, important objects that bring you good memories, so you spray on clothes to have it longer with you.

IF YOU ALWAYS WEAR THE SAME PERFUME – A SIGNATURE SCENT

If you wear just one perfume, you want to feel protected and safe, because sticking to one perfume is a sign of loyalty, consistency and finding comfort in routine.

IF YOU SPRAY YOUR WRISTS, THEN RUB

There is generosity in the act, a desire for exchange. Whoever loves this way has an inherent desire to share thoughts and emotions with trusted ones.

IF YOU SPRAY A CLOUD IN FRONT OF YOU

This means that you want to be noticed. Perfume covering your body as you walk through it is a sign of a fearless spirit and that you can conquer the world. The fragrance says “I AM HERE”, but it’s also a way to create your own private bubble or cocoon.

Perfume-bottles

IF YOU SPRAY YOUR LEGS (?)

You like to get your share of attention, but on your own way.

IF YOU SPRAY BEHIND YOUR EARS

Probably there’s never been a rule you didn’t follow, since this is a classic – perfume behind ears. If more people were like you, this world would be less chaotic.

IF YOU SPRAY BEHIND YOUR KNEES (?)

You are a scientific mind. If someone tells you that the heat behind your knees makes the scent linger, you’ll test it :)

IF YOU SPRAY INSIDE YOUR ELBOWS

For you, things don’t have to be all the same, you create your own way. Life doesn’t always have to make sense!

Lavender fields, so beautiful!

Lavender fields, so beautiful!

IF YOU SPRAY YOUR CLEAVAGE

You love the way perfume makes you feel and you are centered and focused. You get what you want!

IF YOU SPRAY HIPS, TORSO OR STOMACH AREA

You don’t spray here every day, but maybe for a special occasion when you want to do a bonus spritz and that was the first thing you saw in the mirror, according to this article.

IF YOU SPRAY YOUR HAIR

When you pass people by, they’re like, who’s that mysterious lady? What’s she into and where is she from? You’re an enigma.

  1. That spray test is spot on! Have they been watching us? lol I only ever have one or two perfumes at a time – I find a favourite and stick with it – at the minute I love Armani Code and Armani Satin. Keep searching Denise – at least it’s a beautiful search to be on :)

  3. Hello my sweet Denise!!
    I really enjoyed your post!🙂
I like Estée Lauder’s perfumes and I like to spay my neck and hair too!
Thank you for your kind comment on my post!Have a lovely week!
    Dimi…

  4. How interesting! I spray my wrists, clothing and sometimes hair. I am the opposite as you in scent – I do love florals over woodsy scents. I think you may like Kat Von D’s new Sinner scent (maybe). I like her Saint scent and may pick up a roller ball at the Sephora VIB sale – alas I hope it’s not sold out 😛

    Texto lindo
Bjs boa e uma semana perfumada pra nós.

  6. This was so much to read , I so enjoyed this post. I also love perfume, although I have very few bottles. I don’t wear perfume often because the scents I like do you tend to be floral and sweet. I know many people do not like these so I wear them just at home and also I put the perfume on my wrists and Rub. Cool insight,
    ❤️❤️❤️

  7. Now, this is very interesting. I love some perfumes but cannot wear a lot due to allergies. I have a few favourites that I love to wear. I love special bottles mostly. I totally do the cloud and wrist one. These are lovely photos, Denise! Have a great rest of the week. /Madison

    • Thank you so much for the sweet comment, dear Madison! I must confess that I was lazy to photograph my perfumes and so I used copyright free pictures, just to illustrate the post! At first I felt a bit like cheating, but it could well be mine, looked very natural :) But now I feel a bit bad, will try to photograph for another post :) Thank you again for the lovely comment, hope you have a nice day! Xxx

  8. How interesting! I have been using the same perfume for many years and always spray it on my wrists. I never thought about what it meant for my personality until this post. :) Thank you for sharing, Denise! So cool to learn!

    Baci!

  10. Can I just say, I love the shape of the bottles? Hehe. I think that’s probably the thing I love most about perfume..just the receptacles they come in. I haven’t worn perfume in years. I don’t even wear deodorant. Haha. I have some perfume that I’ve received as gifts, though, and they just sit on my bureau like ornaments. I do love looking at them. 😛

  11. That is the first time I’ve heard of people spraying perfume on their legs or stomach! Ha ha!

With my fibromyalgia for years I couldn’t wear perfume because it made me ill. Thankfully now I seem to be able to enjoy it again, but in small amounts. For that reason I rarely spray it on me, I spray it in the air and then walk through it.

Have you tried the men’s fragrances at Hermès? They are fantastic if you like woodsy, which is also what I prefer.

    Suzanne

    • Hi, dear Suzanne, thank you for your lovely comment! I used to wear male perfumes and I still love them, they really meet my taste. But then once I read that they are made for men or the ones made for women “exclusively” for women for a reason and I never wore male perfumes anymore. But I was younger :) Now I think I can wear them again, and your suggestion is great! I love Hermes, by the way! Thank you so much! Hope you have a great week!
