International Day of Charity

International Day of Charity is today; it was so decided in 2012 by the United Nations, because the death of Mother Teresa of Kolkata (Calcutta) was on Sept 5th, 1997.

The blog had some “strange” activity for two weeks – I’m trying to solve that. Some “strangeposts were published – they weren’t written by me. Thanks to the sweet Fil (check out her fantastic blog), I could see that. Hopefully it never happens again, who knows, so if any strange post is published, it wasn’t me :) Everybody knows my posts’ style, so, I apologize for any inconvenience.

I’m always thinking and writing about kindness and charity. “Every year, charities all over the world help to save and improve people’s lives, fighting disease, protecting children, and giving hope to many thousands of people” (here). I could do more than I do now, but I’m not perfect. By the way, just as a note, Mother Teresa was canonized yesterday. There’s controversy, but she’s now officially a saint.

Now a lighter topic :)

This is a DIY "project". This was a Gap overall, with a skirt. I don't feel OK to wear it as an overall after 30, just my feeling!

Of course I respect any opinion, anyone should wear anything they want at any age!

  1. Happy Monday dear, I can imagine how frustrating it could be that suspicious activity on your blog. I hope you already changed your password to accees the blog platform. Now, let’s talk about your outfit: I love this long cardigen, it looks amazing on you, and shoes are super cute. Wish you a wonderful day, dear.

  2. Sorry to hear you’ve had some problems with your blog. I haven’t even been on my blog for a couple of weeks because of the house move and no wifi so thank you for stopping by after so long. I didn’t know it was international day of charity, I feel really bad now because I know I have not done anything charitable today, I’ll have to make up for this week. Your OOTD are always so cute and stylish and I know what you mean about not being able to wear certain things past the age of 30 especially overalls although I do own and wear them still!

  3. love those shoes so much…and I love your long cardigan. Such a stylish look! You did a great job with the layering. Those jeans are also very chic. Perfect styling.

I didn’t know that today was International day of charity but I did know that Mother Teresa died on this day. It is a bit of a surprise that she was proclaimed a saint so soon. Usually these things take a bit more time as the research takes time but perhaps in her case they wanted to speed up the process. I’m aware there was some contraversy, but I prefer not to judge. In these matters, one can never be completely sure.

I was just watching one documentary about Mother Theresa yesterday and I was surprised when I heard her speaking in Croatian. I didn’t know she spoke my mother tongue. I know she was Albanian and that she was born in Skoplje Macedonia ( a lot of Albanians live in Macedonia) so she must have spoken Macedonian but it is still interesting that she was so fluent in Croatian, having lived in India for most of her life ( I think the interview was filmed in India too).

  4. I don’t know much about mother Teresa even though she lived in my country during the last few years of her life.

Yeah I noticed something unusual about your blog few days back when I visited it, a messaged popped up that said this account has been suspended. That time I got really worried:( hope you’ll be able to solve the probs soon! The diyed vest is looking cool. :)

  5. I love how you are creating awareness about these special days, Denise, thank you for bringing it to my attention. And holy cow, what happened to your blog and what kind of weird posts were published? Did you get hacked? So sorry that happened to you and yes, it’s scary.

ps: I too don’t feel comfortable with wearing overall at my age which is close to 40. LOL!

  6. Hello Denise! Sorry to hear about your problems with blogging, I’m glad that you found person, who helped you to solve these issues! I hope that it won’t repeat in the future, especially considering the fact that you’re so sweet and lovely person! What’s more, I haven’t had idea that yesterday was day of Mother Teresa’s death, thank you for your informative post, Denise! And you look amazing in this DIY denim vest, dear!

  7. let me tell you I had no idea Monday was International Day of Charity but I did give a trunk load of stuff to charity the same day and later read about it from your blog. what a lovely coincidence!
anyway, I love it how your striped blouse and bright colourful scarf match with each other. and they also go really well with your hair colour. by the way, I also have a denim overall skirt in my closet and I last wore it in Crete years ago. we’ll see when will be the next time 😛 oh and your shoe collection really must be endless! those vintage looking ones are really cute!
I hope the rest of the week is going to be great for you and one more thing… I’m finally working on a new post! I know, I’m SO slow! 😀

  9. Wow, I can’t believe that someone posted on your website that wasn’t you but I am glad that it got resolved! On a different note — I’ve always loved Mother Theresa. Her charity work was amazing and very inspiriting! You, on the other hand, look as darling as always!

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!
    xoxo, Vanessa

  10. So sorry to hear that you had problems with your blog and I’m glad that you resolved it. I didn’t know about charity day, but I think it’s beautiful idea! Thanks for sharing this with us!
I adore your ootd and your diy project, you look really lovely and cool!:)
Sorry for my rarely activity on your blog, but I’m still on my vacation.
    Have a nice day, Denise!:)

  11. Liebe Denise,

  12. Those shoes – oh, my stars! What a sensationally pretty, vibrant and very cool pair! You have such great “finishing touch” items, dear Denise, and I really admire that you’re keen to include a lot of colour in your wardrobe. That’s something that I do as well and which I think just helps to bring all the more cheer and joy to ours days.

    Oodles of hugs,
    ♥ Jessica

  13. Beautiful outfit!! Love how you pulled the look together, Denise. The cardigan is gorgeous. And them shoooooz! they are TDF!!! Sorry to read about your blog problems. I’ve heard many people complain about funny things going on. I am one of them, my template font changed on the webpage without my doing and I can’t do anything about it, because it says, it’s still gruppo, well it’s not. Then the old GFC problem is back, can’t follow any group. Always get an oops error, lots of people complain about it at the help forum, to no avail. You can tell by the answers of the experts that they don’t even read our complaints. Well, enough ranting, lol. Honey you look gorgeous. Luv ya.

  14. Although the denim overall is not MY style particularly, I think it is sweet with the checked dress! Those shoes are really pretty and I really like the Vintage aesthetic too! Sorry to hear you had some sort of hacking going on!xx
