Happy Thanksgiving Week!

Happy Thanksgiving Week – Thanksgiving was already celebrated in Canada, but in the US it’ll be this week, Nov 24th. Happy Thanksgiving!

Do you believe in blessings? That everyday is a blessing? And that we should be thankful for so many things? That when we win, it’s good, and we fail, we learn and should be thankful for the lesson?

Yes, everyday is a real blessing. Every day carries nice things for us. We have the privilege of waking up everyday, while some couldn’t. We have the whole day to be happy – it depends on the way you choose to see life. Breathe and look around… Don’t focus on the things that weren’t good, on stress or sadness. The moment you appreciate the little things, the beauty of the sea, a garden, seeing people happy and smiling, waking up…:) you’ll be happier! How amazing life and living is!

Happy Thanksgiving

The shop clerk was nice, when so many are grumpy :) You’re working and your kid comes saying “I love you!”… we want to go out, but it’s raining a lot… then we remember that plants need rain and we need plants, so to have fresh air – give every moment the importance it has. It doesn’t have to be “big happy events”, but small things everyday. They lead to happiness.

I hope that everyday you see how blessed you are, with many reasons to smile and to be happy. No matter what time of the year it is, showing gratitude is always great. What are your thankful for?

Last Monday, Nov 14th I celebrated my 250th post here… and baked a cake because of it!

I blog since 2005, but on this blog now this is my 250th post!

    • Dear Elle, thank you so much for your lovely comment and compliments! Yes, 250 posts here – but before I had a blog from 2005 to 2013 and I knew some blogger friends from there :) Again, you are really so lovely, I feel happy that I got to “know” you! I wish you a great week! Xxx

  1. What a beautiful post! You’re right too, it’s the little things that make us happiest and we have a lot to be thankful for.

Congrats on 250 posts as well, a wonderful milestone! I like your outfit, the print in your top is really nice as is the print on your velvet skirt :)

  2. wow, Denise, seeing that amazing cake made me drooling right now 😛 too bad you can’t share it with your readers through the screen, haha. anyway, congratulations!! I know I’ve been such a bad blogger and blog reader but I’m doing my best to change that and I hope a new post will be up this week!
anyway, everything you say in your post is very true. we have so many things/people/emotions etc to be happy about but somehow we forget to see those little things. we’re looking for something bigger, at least I know I often am. I should certainly change that and maybe those bigger things will also come then. I want to believe everything in life happens for a reason but sometimes it’s hard to understand why obstacles have to be in our way and stop us!
I wish you a lovely new week and I hope all is well with you :)

    • Dear Maiken, thank you so much for your sooo sweet comment! You are not a bad blogger, don’t worry about that! I do enjoy to read our posts and I have been visiting your blog for some weeks looking for a post, but I know you are busy and being out of the web just shows that you are living – I remember a blogger friend of mine saying, when I couldn’t post for a while “life is what happens when we are out of the web”. I never forgot that and I agree with her. How many times full time bloggers postpone this or that “because of the blog tasks”. So, well done for living your life well and when you have some time, I will be delighted to read your newest adventures! Hope you have a very beautiful week, dear Maiken!

  3. love the outfit lovely! congrats on 250 posts, thats amazing! We dont celebrate thanksgiving here in the UK, but friends and I are having a lunch together on the 4th of december! the ideal excuse to start the festivities! 😀

    • Dear Pam, thank you for your sweet comment and compliments! Yes, I know it’s not a post for the UK, but as I find it such a great topic in our everyday life (gratitude, it should be an everyday thought, in my opinion :) then I wrote about it :) I am glad that you and your friends will “celebrate” it on the 4th! It’s definitely a great excuse for a great celebration with friends! Wish I could take part :) Hope you have a very nice week, dear Pam! XXX

    • Hi, dear! Thank you for your sweet comment! No, I didn’t dye my hair, but maybe the day was dark. I also try my best not to walk in the sun, I feel some pain when it touches my skin, but sometimes it’s not possible to avoid it :) Hope you have a nice week, thank you again for your lovely comment!

  4. Liebe Denise, Du hast so recht!

  5. I agree to everything you’ve said, it’s easier to complain and get caught up with the bad things but once you put an effort into living life with grattitude you feel happier and more content. :) thanks for the reminder! <3

  6. Quanto hai ragione cara Denise!!!
    Baci!

  9. Congrats on reaching 250 posts. A milestone. A lot of writing in the process,. Oh to be thankful for life and all that fills it. Yes, we should all take stock of where we are and what is around us. Not occasionally but often. Celebrations like Thanks Giving are hugely important as I think life moves so fast that we don’t take the time to pause and reflect. I have so much to be thankful for, and yet I am guilty for not considering that often enough. I have a hubby who couldn’t be more loving and generous, and two beautiful kids who are my world. Plus very supportive close family and friends too. All that is something to be massively thankful for. Big hugs dearest Denise. Tx

  10. Happy Thanksgiving to you doll….this is again a great post and you look beautiful and I totally loved your outfit babe. And I really liked that cute kitty….She is so adorable…xoxo, Neha

I like your velvet skirt and all the patterns. You look really pretty.

  14. Happy Thanksgiving!:-)
Mi piacciono la tua manicure e la tua velvet skirt!

  15. Hi my lovely Denise ! I love, I just love your positive attitude – everyday is blessing and we should focun on those small things instead of wait for a big, happy events, because we could spend all of our lifes and don’t find that special ocassion at all. You’re so right – we should be grateful for everything – for that we someone who loves us, for that we can walk, breathe…There are so many reasons to be grateful about, nothing is granted, we should remember about that. Moreover, congrats on your 250th post, dear Denise, you did such a lovely cake 😀
And one more thing – happy belated Thanksgiving, dear! :)
