I love sweets, but lately, to improve my health, I’m trying to change, eating more vegetables. I can prove it, by these dishes :) I am “known” for mixing sweet and savory tastes and cold and hot dishes together. I know that not everybody likes this mix, but you can adapt to what you prefer. Recipes are on Vegetabible. Hope you like the dishes!

  1. Mmmmm, your food does look delicious!!! Truly tasty and healthy too. The ramen reminded me of Indonesian Mie Goreng and the Chilean dish looks great-colourful too!!!
    I LOVE strawberry jelly. Not so keen on mousse but jelly…!!!x

  2. OMG, that plate of ramen looks absolutely scrumptious! I’ll let you know something about me, I am a HUGE instant noodles lover. I know it’s bad and whenever I do a haul of it here, the cashier at the checkout always frowns at me but instant noodles is extremely common for Malaysians. You can order it at restaurants, it’s that common. I’m not sure what health problems you’re going through, Denise but I sincerely wish you speedy recovery, it’s never good being bogged down by ill health. Hugs! xx

  3. I have such a sweet touth! I’ve just joined a new gym and I had my induction today. This involved a body MOT. I was told I need to cut my sugar intake. That’s going to be very tough for me! As for mixing my sweets with my saviouries, and my hot dishes with my cold, I’m afraid I haven’t got the stomach for that. If I have a hot dish, it’s all got to be hot, and same if cold. Call me inadventurous and boring Denise, lol! That is something you are certainly not! Kisses and hugs, Txx

I’m so happy that you’re changing your food habits, dear, it’s really important to eat many fruits and vegatables and to avoid any fast foods (believe me, when I was teenager I enjoyed to go to any McDonald’s/KFC even though I felt bad after it, now, I feel better without visiting these places and what’s more my face isn’t as oily as it used to be:)). You prepared delicious dishes, dear Denise, especially that Chilean dish with avocado looks so yummy (I’m huge fan of avocado:D) :) Have a great day, dear 😉

  5. Oh yummy, these are all right up on my street. I think it’s fantastic that you are trying to get into healthy eating and I too love the combination of hot and cold and sweet and savoury as you’ve probably seen from some of my recipes. Desserts are probably my favourite meal as I have a sweet tooth so the strawberry ice cream, mousse and jelly looks delicious – strawberries are one of my favourite fruit. Shame their coming to the end of their season.

I have also been eating lots of vegetables lately trying to be healthy, but the last two days i have eaten so much chocolate and candy (and it is that time of the month for me so i guess im excused! i hope! lol) but these recipes look very yummy and delish! that dessert looks delectable!

Ooooh, the omelette pizza with creamy spinach and caramelized apricots looks delicious, I would never have thought of adding caramelized apricots to an omelette but I will give it a try, I’m sure it’s yummy! I think I prefer savoury food in general, and I’m not a big fan of most icecreams (I know that’s weird, haha!), but I am guilty of eating too much chocolate sometimes! I made a point to make myself a huge veggie plate last night with carrot, courgette, and cucumber sticks to snack on while I was watching a movie. Guilt free snacking 😉 this is a lovely and inspiring post, Denise, I look forward to trying out these other combinations, too. Have a lovely day! x

  9. Liebe Denise, Du bist sehr vorbildlich, dass Du Dir nicht nur vorgenommen hast, gesünder zu essen sondern das auch umsetzt! Ich selber mag Fleisch sowieso nicht so gerne, daher liebe ich das, was Du hier vorstellst! Besonders hat es mir die Omlette-Pizza angetan, da alles mit Eiern so sehr mein Geschmack ist :) Ich bin mir so sicher, dass Du einfach die perfekte Köchin bist und ich danke Dir, dass Du diese leckeren Sachen hier vorstellst.

  10. Ma che bellissima idea cara Denise!!!
    Anche io amo i dolci (potrei vivere solo di cioccolato extra dark e gelato), e mischiarli con la frutta è davvero una bella idea per renderli più salutari!
    In realtà io sono abituata a mangiare frutta e verdura però il modo in cui le hai proproste abbinate ai diversi cibi e disposte in modo così carino le rende molto più attraenti! 😀

  11. Mmmm, qué rico!!! Me gusta el concepto de mezclar sabores en los platos, soy de las que se entusiasma probando algo nuevo! Omelette pizza se ve exquisito, y la ensalada con salsa de miel y mostaza me intriga muchísimo, tengo que probarla!!! El postre se ve delicioso, ya sabes que me obsesionan las frutillas 😉

  12. Well, they looks like delicious Denise. I love strawberries and when they are with ice-cream…. mmmmm… It is irresistible. I like very much vegetables but not with pizza or spaghetti. I don’t like spaghetti neither pizza. I hope you have a good week.

  14. yum, what a delicious post! I would take the strawberry and melon salad and all the strawberry desserts too! they look really yummy. but spinach and apricots together – well that does sound unfamiliar to me, especially with eggs 😛 anyway, thanks for making me drool all over my keyboard! 😀
