Browsing Life by Series

Browsing Life by Series… or “how many days of your life have you spent watching series”? :)

Going on with Breast Cancer Awareness campaign - ONE nail is pink! I said I would have AT LEAST one touch of pink in each look this month!

Going on with Breast Cancer Awareness campaign – Pastel manicure and ONE nail is pink!

I recently found a site that calculates the time we spent watching series (try it too, here) :) So funny! You type the series you watched, the seasons… from The Voice, The X Factor, Deutschland sucht den Superstar, Wer wird Millionär? to Indian Summers, Downton Abbey, Breaking Bad, etc… and you’ll find how many DAYS in a row during your life you spent doing so :) My recent calculation was 45 days! Do you like watching series? Which ones?

  1. Oh I’d be scared by how many days I’ve spent watching TV, haha! I like to settle down with netflix each night when I feed baby boy so I’ve clocked up a lot these past 6 months!

  2. Haha, wow, not sure I want to try the series calculator! There are some shows I’ve watched over and over too, so I dread to think. now I’m getting really into watching Korean dramas on my laptop as not much is appealing to me on the real television these days. Sorry I haven’t commented in a while, hope you’re well now x

  3. Hi Denise! You always amaze me with the interesting websites, which you found on the Internet – this one sounds really good. Personally I’m huge fan of watching series, so I’m really happy that my fiance also like this kind of “acitivity” – now, we’re watching “Friends” and we’re enjoying each episode of it and honestly, I don’t count the time, which we spend on watching this show, as wasted time 😛 What about your outfit, my dear Denise, I love the color of your dress from Calvin Klein – this shade of green suits to you! :) What’s more, I adore your bag – it looks do chic :)
Have a lovely evening, dear :)

    • Definitely not wasted time, dear Ivonne! We always learn something from “everything” – series included! Thank you so much for your lovely comment, dear Ivonne, you are always so sweet! Hugs and wishing a beautiful evening for you, too!

  4. Great post, Denise! I must admit that I really don’t watch much TV hence I don’t know that many shows but I heard a lot about Downtown Abbey even though I have never seen it myself. On a different note, you look as lovely as always! Your green dress is SO gorgeous, just like YOU!
    Happy Monday, love!

  6. I am a big fan of watching Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries. Have you seen them? They are on Netflix. You would LOVE it! The fashion alone is worth the watch.

I’ve finally figured out that in this reply form the area of the box that reads “comment” was hiding my cursor. I can comment, I just can’t see the first few words I type as they are hidden.

    Good I tried again!

Love your outfit, especially your nails which are immaculate!

    bisous

    • Thank you so much, dear Suzanne! It happens to me with other blogs too, that the first words I don’t see (not yours, it’s always great on yours) I don’t know how to fix it, so I can only apologize! I watch Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, and Murdoch Mysteries too! I am sooo into Canadian shows (Ok, I know Miss Fisher is Australian, but Murdoch not :) Property Brothers, believe it or not, Love it or List it :) and others :) Thank you sooo very much for the lovely comment, dear Suzanne, hope you have a very sweet week!

  7. I’d be too scared to count up how many hours I waste watching series!! Really could do an awful lot more useful things with that time – the latest I”m hooked on is Damages.

I love your boots – they look so comfortable – and that photo of you looking over the bridge is beautiful.

    Have a great week Denise.

  8. So interesting site, thanks for sharing. My result only 14 days, I thought it will be around 200 days for me haha.
I think it’s not bad thing that we spending our time on this, cause these shows make us feel happier, teach us new things and I always do something useful during watching my shows.

  9. When I was younger, I used to watch a lot of series…and I enjoyed them a great deal too. For the last few years I was taking a break…I didn’t watch any series, but I might want to make up for it some day.

thank your so much for your amazing comment. You always know what to say and you’re really very sweet:) most people don’t even read the text and you always take time to write a really meaningful answer…I appreciate that a lot.

That dress is wonderful and I really like how you paired it with that jacket…a bit of striped pairing…and I do like that. Suble kind of stripes, more like a single stripe on that jacket but I still like it a lot. The boots are fabulous….and I really like your bag. You look very feminine and pretty.

p.s. adorable rainbow manicure and rings.

  10. I DREAD how much time I have watched Dr Who and Lost and Ugly Betty!!x
Your nails are really pretty- such nice pastel shades. The dress is really pretty and suits you.
HOW do you wear that flower ring? It would drive me mad. I find my wedding ring hard enough to cope with!x

  11. I really love that John Lennon quote above and what a lovely outfit on you Denise. You look great, and the jacket is gorgeous! I have not heard of that site, but it’s very interesting. At the moment, as you already suspect I do not have much time at all these days.:) I have watched Miss Fischer Mysteries before and loved all of the episodes. I also really love Poldark, and hopefully will be able to see Ordinary Lies when I have time. Have a great new week, Denise. x/Madison

  12. That dress is gorgeous, Denise! Haha – oh my goodness! I can’t believe I had never heard of that site before! I’m a bit afraid to run the calculations for myself, haha. Mine would probably be a 145 days. I’ve been watching a lot of Netflix lately…Luke Cage, Stranger Things, Jessica Jones, etc. I watch too many series to be honest, haha.

Hope you’re having a great week!

  13. The hubby and I recently calculated our time spent in World of Warcraft in days. He had 40 something. I had even more. But you know what, I don’t see it as time wasted at all. Gaming (or watching series) is like any other hobby. If you enjoy it and it makes you happy, then it’s never a waste of time.

    • Hello! Thank you so much for your comment! I have the same opinion, it’s not wasted time, watching series. I owe a lot to them – when I moved to Germany, it helped me very much to improve German and to get into cultural things too (on Mondays, for ex., everybody, even at uni, would comment about Wetten Dass or Sabine Christiansen). So I liked it :) I liked to know about your calculation too, thank you for sharing! Hope you have a nice Wednesday!

  14. Well, this is one I think I can feel quite proud about: I rarely watch TV. Since the kids arrived (and more so since blogging) I rarely snatch 30 mins or 1hr a week sitting in front of the little black box that sits in the corner of our living room. I have to ‘make’ time for the ‘must-watches’ – and there are a few on my list (namely Strictly and the new series of The Fall). I always watch them post-broadcast though on the digibox – I have no idea how many episodes of The Fall have gone to air but so far I’ve only managed to catch the first one on catch-up! Though, take me back to my teens and early twenties, then yes, the TV played had a much bigger presence in my life. Best gloss over that, lol!… Anyway, I hope all is well with you Denise? BTW, I love the John Lennon quote. From now on, I’m def going to count my age by friends ;). Txxx

    Baci!

  16. Hello denise, I’m sorry I’ve been away from the blogging for a bit, I’ve just been so busy and I’ll be honest feeling a bit down at the moment. I used to watch a lot of telly and loved it because that was my therapy in the evening after a tiring day but now I don’t really get time. I love very trashy TV like the Kardashians ha ha. A very cute OOTD, the gree colour looks amazing on you!

    • Dear Colleen, please don’t worry! I totally understand it, blogging takes a lot of time and life is running – and the things we have to do outside the blogosphere! I am sorry that you are feeling a bit down :( It happens, from time to time, and I hope you soon get cheerful again! I know you have many friends, but if you need someone else, please feel free to share anything with me; I’ll try to cheer you up! Please take care and take your time, we need a “me-time” for a change! Thank you so much for your lovely comment, I hope you have a beautiful day!

  17. Well, it’s really hard to remember because I’ve never been a huge fan of TV-series. I used to LOVE watching O.C. California. Since then I don’t really go for them… Quantico was nice but this turned into a “who f**** with whom” and became too dramatic (the face of the protagonist looks always the same “drama, drama”) xD
So, I guess… nothing really kicked me.
Your look is fab like always!! And I love the colors, dear!

  18. Heeeeeeeey Denise 😀
This sounds really fun 😛 I will totally check this out. Omg! 45 days ahahaa. I wonder how many days will I get x) I haven’t been watching much TV these days but let’s see what I get from all of the past time ;P It sounds really exciting and scary though hahaha 😀

Ouuuh I love your nails. They are so pretty and as always, YOUR SMILE! :) thank you for another wonderful post 😀

  19. John Lennon once said that “Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted”, and when I think of watching whole TV series (especially in a binge watching fashion), those wise words often spring to mind for me. I’m certainly not saying that watching TV is wasting time per se at all, just that as it can be viewed as such by some people, it’s important to remember that how we each choose to spend our time is up to us and that vwe are ultimately the ones who get to decide what is and isn’t a good, happiness inducing use of it. TV can have many benefits (relaxation, education, sharing something you adore with others, etc) and is worth, IMO, at least a little of our time.

    xoxo ♥ Jessica

    • Dear Jessica, thank you for your great comment and thoughts! I totally agree with John Lennon! And you! I love watching documentaries and I feel so good to learn things through them! Your comment is a bit about my post on Monday – TV is part of our lives – and soon there won’t be a generation that remembers what it was like when there was no TV! Thank you again for the lovely comment! XXX

  20. I’ve probably spent YEARS of my life watching series, I just get sucked in! I love Once Upon A Time and Pretty Little Liars. Recently mum has got me watching X Factor again and omg it’s SO LONG. Like, two hours.

    alicered.co.uk

    • Thank you for your super sweet comment! Guess who is watching the X-Factor? :) So we have one more thing in common! :) It is very long, indeed, this time! Thank you again for such a nice comment! Hope you are having a lovely day!

  21. I love watching series and thankfully my husband and I both enjoy the same time of genres. We usually tape the shows though so we can breeze through advertisements. On our watch list are The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, NCIS, Marvel’s Agent of SHIELD, Bull, Timeless, 12 Monkeys, The Voice, Blindspot, SuperStore, Criminal Minds and that’s just the few that’s on top of my head. Haha!

  22. Hi Denise, you look wonderful dear friend. This outfit is gorgeous, and your nails are so pretty love the colors. Let me tell you that green is a beautiful color on you. Well I really enjoyed watching TV series , I watch alot of TV. My favorite are definitely documentaries. Great post dear.

  23. I watch so many series and it’s true that it takes a lot of time but whenever I can, I try to do something else at the same time, such as working out, blogging or reading blogs (watching Rob and Chyna while I’m typing this). Have a great weekend!
