1001 nights celebration

1001 nights celebration post today, because last week when it really was, I was too shocked to post about it (I told, Paris events)! But now it’s here! Plus a sweet award that was offered to me!

1001 nights celebration cake

Every moment is an excuse to have a cake :)! At home, I always have at least one cake and cookies, or else it wouldn’t be my place :) For for this nice occasion I wore some items that my mother gave to me (here too) and I had some other sweets and savory treats, too :)

The amazing vase that belonged to my great-grandmother. It's in the family for 4 generations, I love it!

The sweet vase from my great-grandmother, in the family for 4 generations. There are 2 of it

Watch and ring

Watch from around 1945, that belonged to my grandma and ring that my mother got as a wedding present

Sweet  Dipti from Rainbow Columns gave me an award! I’m so honored, thank you! She asked me some questions! As I know people normally prefer pictures, my answers are short :)

Liebster award

1. What is the one thing that you can’t live without? Water. As funny as it sounds :) I love it.
2. A random fact about yourself? Difficult to choose one…
3. If you were granted 3 wishes, what would you ask for? Peace/happiness/health to the world, happiness to my family and going back to when I was a teenager for at least one year.
1001 nights cake with drink 4. How do you see yourself in 5 years? Probably with a fringe, as usual :)
5. What are the three things that make you happy instantly? Talking to the beloved ones, music and an art museum, I guess, but the list goes on :) Learning, reading… lots of things!
6. What is your biggest pet peeve? Oh, more than one, please. Arrogance, racism, superficiality.

7. Has any movie, or book made a huge impact on you? Too many to list here!
8. Do you have any hidden talent that no one knows about? I don’t think so…
9. What is your holy grail makeup/skincare product? Water. Just water.
10. Gloss, shimmer or matte, which one would you choose? Probably shimmer!

Hope you have a great weekend, with many smiles! Thanks for the sweet comments!

  1. Your cake is great!!! Was it tasty too? Your comment about the fringe made me smile. Your fringe is lovely, so shiny!!!
I love water too!!! So refreshing!!
Amazing backdrop for the cake by the way, so busy and pretty. The vase is lovely too.
Hope that you are well. I feel the same about music and reading!Xx

    • Hi, dear Pam, thank you for your sweet comment! Yes, water in every way – ocean, lakes, river, even swimming pools and seeing water through fountains at home and to drink, all the time – my favorite drink! Don’t know why, but I am like that :) Hope you have a very nice week!

  2. Can’t believe that vase has been in the family for 4 generations, I love having something sentimental such as that. My family never owned anything such as that purely because my mum likes to throw away ‘old stuff’ as she put it. She’s very modern and much prefer to have only new and latest stuff. My MIL on the other hand is the complete opposite and she loves showing me all the family keepsake and it’s so lovely to listen to her sharing the stories behind each item.

  3. Such a nice way to celebrate such a special event! I really liked the cake (wish I had some right now), and the decoration! Your hair looks amazing! It looks so shiny and healthy. I should drink more water! :) And I loved your nail color! Always really beautiful my sweet friend! I’ve missed you!
Hope to talk to you soon!
    Filakia polla! :*

  4. What a cake! Did you bake it? You do made me laugh with your answers. Water! Of course. Great answer. I just wish I liked the taste. It would resolve so many issues, like my often dehydrated skin and my caffeine dependence! I love the vase. A beautiful heirloom. Kisses and congrats again on the blog milestone :). Tx

  5. Well firstly congratulations on your 1001 nights celebration and your award. It’s always nice to have a genuine excuse to eat cake isn’t it, even for us nutritionists haha. Loved the answers to your questions, although short they were still interesting. I love that you are a big fan of water because i am too, I definitely agree with peach happiness and health for the world and i’ll probably have a fringe in 5 years too ha ha. Have a lovely week Denise!

    • Thank you so much, dear Demi! Actually that is my color. I don’t have any highlights for ages, same color since childhood, just light brown or some people say reddish brown – it may look different in pictures, but it depends on the light, indoors or outdoors, sunny or rainy. Hope you have a very nice week, too!

  6. The cake is so so delicious and I’m sure that it tasted divine 😉 What’s more, congrats on the award, my dear Denise and I totally agree with you that the water is an answer on everything, thank for it the skin is brighter and younger and we’re healthier. And I’m impressed on that vase, wow, it’s really amazing family heirloom, dear Denise :) Hope you’re spending wonderful evening now, dear friend :)

  7. wow, what a colourful and happy home you seem to have! I really like those tiles (or tile-like pictures) on the wall, so cool! and a cake like that would be lovely as well. looks like zephyr which I love. or is it whipped cream? both are delicious, of course 😛 oh and your delicate jewellery from previous generations is beautiful. I like it when things travel from one generation to another. old things have this special feeling about them. anyway, congratulations, dear Denise. it was such a lovely post and reading some small facts about you was interesting of course. you should consider posting more 😉 take care and enjoy the rest of the week!
